21th Anniversary
This year marks the 21th anniversary of the Dave
Palmer Memorial Foundation. While Dave is sorely missed, the Foundation
is going strong.
History
In June, 1992, Dave Palmer was a seemingly healthy 29 year old husband and father. He died suddenly of heart failure, leaving behind his young wife and two year old son.
The passing of Dave helped a group of his friends recognize that unfortunately there are many families in the same situation. These families suffer not only a terrible emotional loss, but also face unforgiving financial hardships. Dave’s friends were motivated to take action.
The purpose of the foundation is to provide financial assistance for children who have lost a parent to an untimely death while keeping alive the good name and nature of a good man. Whether it’s a Christmas present under the tree, or an educational scholarship, the financial assistance provided by the foundation helps lighten the burden on these families.
Accomplishments
Now in our 21
th year, with the help of many friends and supporters, the foundation has provided assistance to hundreds of children in our area, distributing over $300,000 dollars to date in assistance, all with your help.
The Foundation has no paid employees and all event profits go directly to the families in need.
